Fellow Box – Nov21 Edition
110.00€
With autumn already well present, we continue our journey through the Portuguese regions and grape varieties. So, we decided to present three premieres here on our website: a white wine to show the famous acidity of Arinto, a powerful red wine from the intense grape of Alicante Bouschet and a red wine to demonstrate the quality of the Lisbon region. We added to these three other wines from the Dão and Douro regions and brought to you all another extraordinary pack of wines that we are sure you will love. Don’t miss it!
Included in this pack
Herdade do Paço do Conde Alicante Bouschet
Herdade do Paço do Conde Alicante Bouschet
The Alicante Bouschet grape variety was adopted by the Alentejo Region as its own, producing high quality wines in this dry and hot climate, unlike the country of origin (France) where it has no significant expression. Being a teinturier grape variety, it always produces wines with a lot of colour, as is the case here. Made by the competent winemaker Rui Reguinga, it presents itself with well-ripened black fruits, robust, somewhat rustic, chewy and full of flavour. A powerful wine for those who like strong emotions.

Maçanita Reserva
Maçanita Reserva
The Maçanita brothers are a successful duo in the Douro with appealing wines, always at a great price. This Reserve is a typical Douro wine. Aroma of ripe berry fruit with some floral (violet) and spice from the barrel. The palate follows the nose in a full wine with generous red and black fruit, slightly rough tannins and a refreshing finish due to excellent acidity. A very young wine that will grow with bottle ageing.

Marquês de Marialva Arinto Reserva
Marquês de Marialva Arinto Reserva
Adega Cooperativa de Catalhede is one of the good winegrowers' cooperatives working in Portugal. Supported by the experienced winemaker Osvaldo Amado presents us good Bairrada wines at very competitive prices. This is a bottled version of Arinto with barrel ageing, combining the typical citrus notes of the variety with wood notes that give it more volume in the mouth and harmonise the strong acidity. A good example of Arinto.

Casa da Passarella - A Descoberta
Casa da Passarella - A Descoberta
Casa da Passarella has been one of the most proactive producers in the Dão region in recent years.Based on a philosophy of respect for the terroir (sub-region Serra da Estrela), reputable winemaker Paulo Nunes makes excellent wines in all price ranges. This white wine is super fresh, in a typical blend of the region, with some floral and abundant citrus notes. A very gastronomic wine.

Quinta da Chocapalha
Quinta da Chocapalha
Quinta da Chocapalha is one of the best producers in the Lisbon region. A family company, it's daughter Sandra Tavares da Silva's job to make the house wines. This red wine represents a little of the general atmosphere of the region with a blend of indigenous grape varieties with foreign ones (in this case Alicante Bouschet, but usually Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are used). Intense wine of ripe black fruits, some spice, full and good final acidity. The years in the bottle have already helped to soften the tannins, which makes it ready to drink.

M.O.B. Lote 3
M.O.B. Lote 3
The M.O.B. brand is the result of the surnames of the renowned winemakers: Jorge Moreira (Poeira), Francisco Olazabal (Quinta Vale Meão) and Jorge Serôdio Borges (Wine & Soul). Famous in the Douro, they decided to get together to make wines in the Dão region. Respecting the terroir, they make wines typical of the region, fresher and more elegant than in the Douro. This blend of 3 grape varieties (Alfrocheiro, Touriga Nacional, Jaen), is a red fruit wine, medium bodied, elegant and with a great final freshness. Made for the table.
