Dão Selection
110.00€
The Dão region is known for producing fresh, elegant and gastronomical wines. With a much colder weather than the Douro or Alentejo regions, Dão creates wines with a less fruity impact in a young age but with a vegetable and acidic profile that makes them particularly attractive after some years of aging, whether in barrel or bottle.
This selection shows exactly the most classic side of the region and its evolution capacity.

Julia Kemper gave continuity to a family project and has launched her brand in the market 10 years ago. Resorting to organic and biodynamic agriculture and a signature way of doing things, she was able to create this Reserva 2011 which is a very elegant wine, fresh and full of life. Complex, full of spices and balsamic, it is now ready to drink.

Quinta da Falorca is a small producer in the Dão region creating, nonetheless, amazing wines. It has a "Garrafeira" that is always one of the best wines that are made in Portugal in the few years that it goes out to the market, and then launches this Lagar Reserva, which is perhaps a little more rustic than the top of the range, but that has, on the other hand, a great personality. A very serious wine, full, concentrated but that the aging time has tamed and is now aromatic, complex, representing the best Dão wines when we have the patience to wait for them.

Lusovini is a group that owns many brands and wines in all Portuguese regions. Pedra Cancela is a brand that has a special place within its vast portfolio because it represents the founding region of Lusovini.
For us, this Reserva 2016 is always a great choice. More recent and modern in style comparing to the other wines that compose this selection, this wine, although more fruity is capable of representing very well the region, showcasing notes of wild fruits, pine needles and floral from the ubiquitous Touriga Nacional. Tannins still firm, ending fresh and asking for food. Very gastronomical.
