Shipping & Delivery
The Portuguese Wines Fellows works with third party companies for shipping and delivery. Once you confirm your order, a shipping confirmation email will be sent with a link so you can track it.
Shipping costs are calculated based on the chosen product and the country of destination. They are shown during checkout. Subscribers are offered a 50% discount on shipping fees for any purchase.
Usually, any order is dispatched within 1-2 business days after order confirmation. After shipment, it usually takes between 4 to 5 business (ground service) or 2 days (air service) to reach the destination.
Once you are at checkout, you’ll access a dropdown menu to select the country where you want to receive your order. If your country is not listed in the countries then it’s because we are not delivering to your country yet. There are probably constraints in your country when it comes to importing alcoholic beverages.
If you can’t find your country listed in our store, please contact us using our Contact form or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will try to manage the delivery of the wines you want.
The prices of the products available already include Portuguese VAT (13% for table wines and 23% for fortified / sparkling wines and the shipping). For any EU country, no additional duty or taxes are due if you use our products for private consumption.
For UK deliveries, there is a specific set of rules:
- At the price shown on the our website, Portuguese VAT is removed and is not charged by us;
- After dispatch, a SMS / E-mail will be sent to the customer to pay VAT (at the local rate) and Excise Duty on alcoholic beverages:
£2.23 per 75cl bottle of still wine.
£2.86 per 75cl bottle of sparkling wine.
£2.98 per 75cl bottle of Port wine
UK VAT = 20% (applied after duty)
Rates are subject to change by the government at any time.
When receiving your order, you should always inspect the packages.
If there is a broken bottle, you must not accept the order and must inform the courier who is delivering it.
Claims for breakages will only be accepted if we are notified within 24 hours of delivery at email@example.com.
We will do everything to solve the situation.
If any of the wines have some problems, like TCA, you should reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org within the next 24h of identifying the problem.
