    The Portuguese Wine Fellows is an independent curated online wine subscription service and store that provides selected Portuguese wines to enthusiasts everywhere. Some call us a wine club, we call it a fellowship. Please check our About page to learn more about us.
  2. Do The Portuguese Wine Fellows produce their own wines?
    No, we taste and select the wines we include in our monthly wine box but we don’t own any vineyards, wineries or wine labels.
  3. Who are the founders of The Portuguese Wine Fellows?
    The Portuguese Wine Fellows is a project by João Pedro Duarte and Rui Caldeira, two long-time friends and wine lovers. Both are wine enthusiasts, with WSET trainings and a vast experience, whether in Portugal and abroad, in wine tasting and enotourism.

SUBSCRIPTION

  1. What composes the The Portuguese Wine Fellows monthly subscription box?
    Every month we select 6 bottles of Portuguese wine that we believe represent the best of Portugal and that our subscribers will love. Those can be reds, whites, rosés. There is also a 3-bottle monthly subscription plan available.
  2. What are the advantages of subscribing The Portuguese Wine Fellows?
    By subscribing to our The Portuguese Wine Fellows monthly wine box you’ll become a Fellow! That includes:
    • One Portuguese wine box per month delivered at your door ( 3 or 6 bottles depending on the plan subscribed)
    • 10% off in all purchases at the online store
    • 50% off in shipping fees if you live in selected countries (see list)
    • Access to the Private Collection
    • Access to the Fellow Adviser service
    • Access to the Fellow Gets Fellow program

  4. What’s the subscription’s price?
    You can check the price of your order at the moment of checkout.
  5. When will I receive my subscription box?
    We send our carefully selected wine box in the second week of each month. Expected delivery times may vary according to the country of destination.
    For your first wine box and if you subscribe after the second week of each month, we’ll send you the active wine box of the corresponding month as soon as we confirm the payment.
  6. Can I choose/change the bottles of the monthly box?
    Unfortunately you cannot make alterations to the selection of wines that composes the monthly wine box.
  7. Will I know in advance what wines I’m getting each month?
    Once a month we’ll send you an email telling you about our selections of the month so that you can know what you’ll receive and also keep the information about the wines that you can use at the time of tasting.
  8. What happens if I don’t like a wine that came in my monthly box?
    The Portuguese Wine Fellows wine box is a discovery box of Portuguese wines. We want you to have the opportunity to try out different wine profiles and styles and with that there’s always the chance of you not enjoying one of the wines we’ve carefully selected.
    You can always rate the wines if you login your The Portuguese Wine Fellows account. We’ll keep that rating in mind when building the following boxes.
  9. Can I cancel my subscription?
    Yes, The Portuguese Wine Fellows subscription can be cancelled at any time you want. Please just keep in mind that we have a billing cycle and that if you have already been charged for that month’s subscription box, we won’t be able to refund and you’ll still get the box you’ve paid for.
  10. Can I suspend my subscription?
    Unfortunately no! But you can cancel your subscription at any time and subscribe again whenever you want. If you have any doubts, please contact us at customer@thewinefellows.com so that we can help you with this.

WINE PACKS & STORE ORDERS

  1. What are the Wine Packs?
    Wine Packs are available at our online shop. They are sets of selected Portuguese wine that you buy outside of the monthly subscription box.
    These Wine Packs are a display of the best Portuguese wines subject to a theme such as a specific grape variety, a specific region or a specific style of wine and are aimed to complement the Fellow’s knowledge of Portuguese wine.
  2. How can I place an order at the web store?
    At our online store you can select the Wine Pack you want to purchase, add it to your shopping cart and then proceed with check-out by indicating your payment details and delivery address.
  3. What’s the price of the Wine Packs?
    Prices may vary according to the selected wines and size of the pack (3 or 6 bottles).

REFERRAL PROGRAM “FELLOW GETS FELLOW”

  1. Can I recommend a friend?
    Totally! Invite how many friends you want to join the Fellowship.
    Login to your The Portuguese Wine Fellows account and you’ll see a referral link you can send to your contacts. For each contact that subscribe using your link you’ll get an extra bottle with your subscription and him/her too! Remember that we are a fellowship, and fellows only give the best to each other.
  2. I buy your Wine Packs but I’m not a subscriber. Can I still recommend a friend?
    The Fellow Gets Fellow program is reserved to subscribers only. Subscribe our The Portuguese Wine Fellows monthly wine box and you’ll be able to invite friends and get a gift bottle once they subscribe!

  1. What is the Fellow Adviser service?
    Once you subscribe, you become part of our Fellowship. One of the services you can resort to as a Fellow is our wine consultancy service. We’ll help you find out your wine profile, give you information about Portugal and the wines produced there and other topics you may want to explore.

  2. What is the Fellow Cellar?
    Any wine purchased at our website is automatically inserted in your Fellow Cellar. Once you login to your account, you’ll be able to access your own personal cellar and:
    • Rate your wine
    • Add tasting notes
    • Track your Portuguese wine knowledge and earn badges for your accomplishments.
  3. What is the Private Collection feature?
    Every now and then, we open our founders’ Private wine Collection with special picks and exclusive bottles from Portuguese winemakers.
    The Private Collection is open for a limited period in time and stock is very limited. Once you get your notice, rush to assure you get the best findings!
  4. I don’t know anything about wine, how can I know what I am buying?
    With every wine month delivered to you we add informational materials regarding the wine (grape varieties, regions of origin, etc.) as well as pairing suggestions and storage tips so that you can enjoy your wines to the fullest.
  5. I am planning on visiting Portugal soon. What regions and/or wineries should I visit?
    We are glad to help you plan you trip to Portugal and we can provide you the best tips for visits, restaurants, wineries and experiences. With our Fellow Adviser service, you can contact us at customer@thewinefellows.com and we’ll book a session to help you plan everything in detail.
  6. I am searching for a specific wine and I didn’t find it in your store. Can you help me?
    We are glad to help you find your favourite wines. Contact us through our Fellow Adviser service at customer@thewinefellows.com and we’ll try to help you find the Portuguese wines you are looking for.

ACCOUNT

  1. How can I setup my The Portuguese Wine Fellows account?
    Head over to our website www.theportuguesewinefellows.com and click in “Be a Fellow”. Insert your personal details, password and payment details and you’re set to go.
  2. I forgot my password. What should I do? Go to the Your account page and then follow the steps to reset your old password and define a new one. You will receive an email to proceed with the reset of the old password so please check your mail box spam in case you haven’t receive it. The new password will be active when you login to your account so please select something that you can remind later.
  3. How can I subscribe to your mailing list?
    Once you become a subscriber you’ll be automatically added to our mailing list.
  4. How can I unsubscribe to your mailing list?
    You may unsubscribe by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of all of our newsletters.

PAYMENT

  1. What payment methods do you accept?
    At the moment you can pay your The Portuguese Wine Fellows orders with Credit Card (Visa / Mastercard ) or with Paypal.
  2. When will you charge me my monthly subscription?
    Payments for the monthly subscription will be charged during the first week of the month.
  3. I want to change my payment details.
    Login to your The Portuguese Wine Fellows account and change your payment details in the ‘settings’ section.

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

  1. When will I receive my order?
    We send our carefully selected wine box in the second week of each month. Expected delivery times may vary according to the country of destination.
    For your first wine box and if you subscribe after the second week of each month, we’ll send you the active wine box of the corresponding month as soon as we confirm the payment.
    For orders of Wine Packs, you ship them as soon as we confirm the payment.
    For all orders and subscriptions, you’ll receive an email letting your know that your parcel was shipped and estimated date of delivery.
  2. What countries do you ship to?
    Once you are at checkout, you’ll access a dropdown menu to select the country where you want to receive your order. If your country is not listed in the countries then it’s because we are not delivering to your country yet. There are probably constraints in your country when it comes to importing alcoholic beverages.
    If you can’t find your country listed in our store, please contact us using our contact form or by email to customer@thewinefellows.com and we will try to manage the delivery of the wines you want.
  3. What are the shipment fees?
    Shipment fees may vary according to the country of destination but know that if you are a Fellow and you’ve subscribed to our monthly wine box, you’ll always have a 50% discount in shipment fees. You’ll be informed of those fees at the moment of checkout and before you confirm your order.
  4. Are shipments insured?
    Insurance is included in the shipping cost. If you find your package damaged, then you should refer that to the person that is delivering your order.
    Please inspect your parcels when you receive it and if there is any outside damage please also inspect your products.
    In case of damages, we will prepare another parcel with the damaged bottles or if you prefer, we can refund the value of the missing products in a voucher or a direct refund.

  1. I didn’t like one of the wines that came in my monthly box. What can I do?
    The Portuguese Wine Fellows wine box is a discovery box of Portuguese wines. We want you to have the opportunity to try out different wine profiles and styles and with that there’s always the chance of you not enjoying one of the wines we’ve carefully selected.
    You can always rate the wines if you login your The Portuguese Wine Fellows account. We’ll keep that rating in mind when building the following boxes.
  2. One of the wines I’ve received wasn’t in good conditions. Can you help me?
    Please reach out to us through our support team – customer@thewinefellows.com – and we’ll access the situation and see the right way to compensate you for your troubles.
